OHS Maker Club Takes Flight with Drone Workshop

Time to fly!
Yesterday we joined students from the OHS Maker Club for some flight training with drones. Our Schantz MakerSpace volunteers walked students through a "How NOT to Crash" course and discussed the ways drones are helping to solve problems in today's world. Then students got to test their skills on our obstacle courses and joined in a team effort to solve a "Toxic Waste Mission". Careers involving this skill set are growing in number each year. The best way to grow your skills is to get out and play! Looking forward to coming back next week for a session on programming the drones for autonomous flight. Special Thanks to Orrville High School and Dr. Tim Vierheller for helping to make this happen!
